Calamari with Garlic and Butter Recipe

I love seafood and so do my family. I grow up in an island were seafood most likely you can eat often.Finding fresh  seafood in Western Country and you live far from  the ocean is unrealistic so I settle a frozen one. It's not bad as you think, frozen one is my bet and how you cook is more important.

Am thankful, even I live far from the ocean I can still enjoy and buy seafood often. One of my favorite is Calamari. I cook it in different ways. My husband enjoyed simple ingredients. Calamari with garlic and butter recipe is one of my favorite recipe to make in the family. It's easy and simple to follow. The only thing you need is patient to prepared all the ingredients as I cooked from the scratch most of the time.

What is Calamari?
Calamari is squid and it's popular in restaurant in  North America as an appetizer. Although, in Asia squid is popular to eat with rice.

How to cook Calamari?
You can cook calamari/squid in different ways. It depends your taste bud.My mood is important when cooking.

3. Season the calamari with  olive oil, garlic powder, pinch of salt and black pepper.  Marinate for 30 minutes.
4. Broil the calamari for about 2-5 minutes. Do not overcook.

Mother's day celebration at Basil Asian Bistro

Mother's day is over, I still have this post needed to publish. I choose to dine-in at Basil Asian Bistro for the first time on Mother's day. Avoiding the crowds was my husband idea so early dinner is our option. We left at home around 4 pm and took us 15 minutes on the road. It's not that far and this is our first time to dine-in.

My husband asked about my preference for dinner-Thai food was in my mind and craving for Pad thai.To make it special I research thai restaurants in my area that we never been. There are 3 thai restaurants so I pick this Basil Asian Bistro.

We arrived when they just  open, if i'm not mistaken we are the first customer for the evening.

Things I like in Basil Asian Bistro:
  • the ambiance is inviting and cozy.
  • friendly staff
  • the food tickle our taste buds.Definitely our new favourite restaurants.
My husband and I ordered:
Chicken Panang Curry. It's my husband taste.

A great cup of coffee starts with the beans, and we have a checklist to make sure the factory is rolling out the very best cup of coffee we can. We hand-inspect the coffees before and after roasting to make sure they meet our standards. We're just as meticulous in the way we grind our beans as in the way we perform our selection process. The grinding technique is one of the most important factors that contributes to the high-quality taste of Java Factory coffee. Our roasting system ensures a smooth, full-bodied taste that’s never bitter or acidic even in the darker roasts. Each of the coffees are expertly roasted so the beans have a rich, well-balanced flavor. We scrutinize each of our single-serve cups for consistency, making sure every cup is filled precisely with the specified amount of coffee grounds to give it optimal flavor. Finally, we hand-check every completed cup. If it’s not perfect, it’s not going anywhere. You could say we’re obsessed with perfection. But, at Java Factory, we like to think that we’re just crazy about our coffee.
